New Openings in Midtown Miami Fall 2026: What's Set and What's Still Ahead

October 8, 2026

"Barring any construction or inspection delays we plan to open early October," a Barnes & Noble representative told Miami New Times in August. The company was describing its new store in the former West Elm space at the Collection at Midtown.

That hedge has since turned into a day on the calendar. The bookstore's own store page now lists its address as 3201 N Miami Ave Suite 111 and reads "Opening October 14th," with an events calendar already headed October 2026.

No other new tenant in the center can say the same this fall. The other arrivals on the Collection's signage still give a season, a "coming soon," or a target set months ago. For anyone planning October in Midtown, October 14 is the one date the shopping center has published. The rest of the dated fall calendar is a short walk away in Wynwood.

October 14 and What Arrives With It

The Collection at Midtown describes the store as a 13,958-square-foot bookstore with "a modern design and a full-scale B&N Cafe." Barnes & Noble gave New Times a smaller figure. It said the sales floor will be about 12,300 to 12,400 square feet, with the rest used for receiving, storage, an office and a break room. Either way it is a large room, and it fills the space West Elm used to occupy at 3201 North Miami Avenue. The company also said the Midtown store "will showcase our new design and format."

The opening comes during a year of change for the chain. New Times pointed to an Inc. list of upcoming Barnes & Noble closures that tied nearly every one to an expiring lease or a mall redevelopment. The Barnes & Noble at Sunset Place in South Miami, for example, faces an uncertain future as demolition of that mall approaches. Midtown is gaining a store while another Miami location waits on its landlord's plans.

Midtown is also opening into a crowded book scene. The same New Times story counts a run of independent openings around the city. Posman Books and Quade Books opened in 2024. Roots Bookstore and Market opened in Liberty City last summer. Steamy Lit has opened two stores, in Miami Springs and Fort Lauderdale.

The store's events calendar is live, but as of today it shows no named grand-opening event. The Collection's own events page still says "Event details coming soon." The date is set, but the opening program has not been announced.

The Signs That Haven't Become Dates

The rest of the center's announced arrivals are at different stages. Here is how each one is listed as of September 30, 2026:

Arrival Location What was announced Latest public status
Barnes & Noble 3201 N Miami Ave Suite 111 "Early October" in August "Opening October 14th"
CorePower Yoga 3201 N Miami Ave "Coming Summer 2026!" "Opens soon"
La Boulangerie Boul'Mich Collection at Midtown "Coming Soon" No date posted
Il Mannarino The Standard Residences, Midtown Fall 2026, set in January No newer confirmation found

CorePower Yoga is the arrival that has run past its own target. The Collection's homepage still advertises a 3,486-square-foot studio as "Coming Summer 2026!" Summer is over, and CorePower's own studio page still says "Opens soon." The center's listing does say how the opening will show up ahead of time. Class schedules become live and bookable 14 days before opening for members and 7 days before for non-members. Founding members who sign up before the doors open can lock in 25 percent off an All Access Membership. So the first concrete sign of an opening day will be the schedule going live on CorePower's page, two weeks out.

La Boulangerie Boul'Mich appears in the center's directory as "Coming Soon," and its hours line says the same. The listing gives no announcement date and no opening target. Nothing public says whether the bakery is weeks or months away.

Il Mannarino has the furthest-out timeline and the least recent news. Miami New Times reported in January 2026 that the famed Italian butcher shop and bistro would open its first U.S. location at The Standard Residences in Midtown, targeting fall 2026, with no specific opening day. The Italian trade publication Ristorazione Moderna reported the same autumn 2026 target in mid-January. Fall began just over a week ago. We found no newer local report on construction progress or an opening date. Fall is still the stated target, and nothing public yet confirms it.

All three may well open on schedule. As of today, though, only the bookstore has published a day you can put on a calendar.

One Departure Up Second Avenue

The past season also brought a closing just north of the Midtown grid. La Latina, the Venezuelan arepa spot at 3509 NE Second Ave., closed in August after 15 years. Miami New Times placed it in Edgewater and included it in its September roundup of the summer's biggest restaurant closures.

The restaurant had been open since 2011 and thanked customers for that support when it closed. Its fast-casual menu built arepas around combinations of meat, cheese, beans and plantains, and New Times named it the city's Best Arepas in 2024. It was one of the fixed points on that part of Second Avenue, and its closing date is the one change around Midtown this season that is already complete.

The Fall Dates You Can Plan Around, in Order

Midtown's own fall announcements are mostly undated. Wynwood's are not, and its event organizers have published specific days through early November. Put in order, with the bookstore opening slotted in, the next six weeks look like this:

  1. Saturday, October 10. Wynwood Art Walk runs across the neighborhood, with free public access, rotating gallery and venue programming, and free admission to Wynwood Walls from 5 to 10 p.m.
  2. Wednesday, October 14. Barnes & Noble opens at the Collection at Midtown, 3201 N Miami Ave Suite 111.
  3. October 16 and 17. III Points returns to Mana Wynwood.
  4. October 31. Hallowyn, billed as a free Halloween block party, takes over Wynwood Marketplace at 2250 NW 2nd Ave.
  5. November 7. Diwali Miami runs from 5 to 10 p.m. at FunDimension, 2129 NW 1st Ct.
  6. November 8. South Florida Seafood Fest returns to Wynwood Marketplace at 2250 NW 2nd Ave.

The bookstore lands four days after Art Walk and two days before III Points, so its opening week sits between two of Wynwood's dated October events. Hallowyn and the Seafood Fest at Wynwood Marketplace are a week apart, with Diwali Miami the night before the Seafood Fest. Any of CorePower, Boul'Mich or Il Mannarino could still open somewhere on this list. CorePower's would be the easiest to spot coming, since its schedule should go live about two weeks ahead.

The Collection at Midtown's directory and homepage are where updates for the center's tenants appear first, and the Barnes & Noble Midtown store page is where the October 14 date and the store's coming events are posted.

As new tenants fill the Collection, the block around Midtown's shops is changing, and those changes affect daily life on the surrounding streets.
